Representative Dennis Keene Recognized at National Conference for Promoting Kentucky Tourism

Keene ranked 3rd in the national for social media tourism promotion

Washington, D.C.—Identified as being a vocal legislator on social media for tourism in Kentucky, Representative Dennis Keene was recognized at the recent Destinations International 2018 CEO Summit. Kentucky is ranked third in the nation behind Pennsylvania and New York, as the most vocal state legislatures on tourism.  And near the top of that list is Representative Dennis Keene, who was named as the third most vocal state legislator in the number of statements and mentions on social media about tourism.

“My district includes the Newport Aquarium, Newport on the Levee, New Riff Distillery, historic neighborhood shopping and restaurants, as well as family-friendly parks and recreation venues,” said Representative Dennis Keene. “We use social media to communicate with citizens about legislation and also to promote our outstanding tourism destinations in the region and throughout the Commonwealth. I am proud to shine a spotlight on all the great things happening with respect to Kentucky tourism. As a member of the General Assembly, I always vote to support the drivers of our economy and to support the great projects we have underway at home.”

“People come from all over the world to visit Kentucky’s Bourbon Trail, horse country and our exciting venues in Northern Kentucky,” said Keene. Kentucky tourism is responsible for over 190,000 jobs, bringing $14.5 billion in revenue into the Commonwealth in 2016 and growing at a fast pace. Kentucky Bourbon is the leading driver of tourism growth in the Commonwealth.

“New Riff appreciates the strong support of Representative Dennis Keene. He is a great promotor of tourism in Northern Kentucky, and being a gateway to the bourbon trail, I have rarely gone to an event or read a social media post where Dennis Keene isn’t strongly supporting us or mentioning us by name. He is a great champion for Kentucky tourism,” said Ken Lewis Founder and Owner, New Riff Distilling.

Representative Keene served as Chairman of the Licensing, & Occupations Regulations Committee in the House of Representatives prior to being elected to House Democratic Caucus Chairman in 2017. A businessman, Keene currently serves on the House Licensing, Occupations & Administrative Banking & Insurance, and Natural Resources & Energy Committees.

Representative Dennis Keene has served the citizens of the 67th District (Newport, Bellevue, Dayton, Silver Grove, Melbourne, Highland Heights, Southgate, and Wilder) in Campbell County since 2005. Keene is an economic development advisor for EGC Construction.  For more information, visit:
